The A.V. Shirk Political Collection consists of correspondence and printed political material (like booklets, pamphlets, and flyers) from the 1940s-1970s collected by A.V. Shirk. This collection is minimally processed but it is available for research upon request.

Topics of note include the beat generation of the late 1950s to early 1960s; the counterculture of the 1960s and 1970s, including radical social history and politics, Ethnopharmacology drug culture, rock music, and alternative publications; black history and culture, including music; native American history and culture; and more.
