Dear Wendell

we recievedreceived
the cards you sent yesterday
and a letter from Willie he
was all right hadn't got his
XmasChristmas box yet said thiertheir cook
had twenty nine turkeys
ready to roast for XmasChristmas. his
letter didn't sound as though
he thought he would get home
soon. I saw in the papers
yesterday Link Slasser
has landed in New York he
is pretty badly shot up
Bill and Hattie Nelson George

and Dave were here

Sunday. Dave has 160 acre of
beet ground rented for this summer
and is looking for 40 more.
The straw stack fell down
sunday and killed two hundred
dolorsdollars worth of beef for us. Gale
was out horse buying with Dave
yesterday bought one ofoff Fred
Kelley
. Florence is here again
she sent you a long letter
to the 128 Inf.Infantry. Scott has been quite
sick but is better now. The flueinfluenza
don't let up much. Norma's
pig got cooties she had a
great time getting rid of them.
Mrs Hazel Storch has fell out with
some of the germans and gone home
to stay. My new hen house don't
bring any eggs yet I guess
we won't make maple this spring as
the ground hasn't froze enough yet.
