Dear Dad,

I expect that you
are thinking it about
time I write at least a
few lines. I hope that
this letter finds you and folks
all enjoying the best of health.
I am feeling fine
althoalthough a little tired tonight
from "hobnailing" paree
streets. We are here
on a Y.M.C.A.Young Men's Christian Association motor
truck convoy and by
some mistake or other
the A,P,M,Assistant Provost-Marshal gave us 3
days in Gay Paree so
we are naturally
taking in the sights.

The girls here are all baby dolls and wear the
the lower edge of their skirts even with the top of
everybodieseverybody's (The Soldats) leggins or putt'sputtees.
Even the old 50 yryear old scouts seem to love the
scenery for nearly everyone you meet has a "chicken"
on his arm. In the last 5 days we have visited
all the most important castles, palaces, and noted
buildings of the 13th century down to the present
time. It seemed that every King that ruled this
country
had some artistic ideas which he tried
to place before the world as a better idea than
his prede cessorspredecessors.
We have been in the palace of Versailles
which is one of the show places of the world
and at present the home of the peace conference
of the World's war.
I haventhaven't had an opportunity to see
Pres.President Wilson for he travels from place to place
at a rather fast gait and well guarded also
at uncertain hrs.hours
Today we visited Napoleon I tomb, Notre
Dame
, also saw the painting, "Pantheon"
by two French artists. It is certainly a wonder and

a person would have to
see it to appreciate its
value of expression and
instruction.
It gives a very clear
idea of the 4 yrsyears of war
the whole front, every soldier
that has received a cross, nurses
and all Countries participating
with each countriescountry's most
noted men and soldiers, all
are lifesize portraits.
We have been in all
parts of the city both by autoautomobile
and subways. The only thing
we haven't seen yet is the Roman
Wall. must ring off Dad, am
tired and expect to drive to Chaloux
or perhaps Verdun tomorrow. am glad
to have the opportunity of seeing our old front
again. It will recall old times. for

P.S. which
we sometimes
get lonesome
while waiting
for peace.
I expect
Shorty is home
or at least
in camp and
I hope in the
best of health
While at St.
Nazaire
they
told me his
co.company was home
O.K. which is
good. May sign
up with the Y.M.Young Men's Christian Association for
a few months. Best
wishes and Love Earl
