Boucq France,
A.P.O. 714
April 22, 1919
Dear Dad,

I just received a
letter from you yesterday
sure glad to hear from you
I have been writing
nearly every week I received
28 letters and a large bunch
of Toledo Blades which sure
are good news to us. I
expect By the time us
boys get home they will
be a good many changes
We have been ready two or
three times to start home
but then they change orders
and now we are in a
new camp and I do
not think we will
get away for a while.
All we have to do is
clean up a dozdozen camps

and by that time nearly
all of the A.E.F.American Expeditionary Forces will be
home I think now
we will not be home
untilluntil DecDecember 1. but hope so
all I have to do now is
just clean up a room
at the officers quarters
it is only 8x8 ftfeet and
I can clean it up in
an hrhour. Well I have some
time to study and read
we have here at this camp
nearly all kinds of papers
and magazines We are located
ten miles from Langlas
up near the Toul sector some
of the boys moved the 88th
Divdivision for reunion by the C.C.Crew Chief
Well Earl thinks he will
get home soon.

I sure have a fine letter
from Paris I see by the
papers that pork is a good
price Well we get enough
bacon I do not care if
I see any more as long
as i live. I wish you
people had some of the cars
that are smashed up here
all they want to do is junk
them the Officers say they
are payedpaid for and it makes
no difference I wish all
of the boys were home when
some of those big men
come home and run for
an office we sure would
give them some of the
hell they dish. But to us I
dontdon't think a man in A.E.F.American Expeditionary Forces
will support one officer for election

This may sound like shit
but it is true and I have been
Over some of this country
and sure have a chance to find
out. One camp we were in
with cadillac cars was an
aviation camp and they
were using some good
planes to cook dinner in
the kitchens this is nothing
new. It sure is a shame
the way money is used
the French rob the boys all they
can and then raise hell
if they do not like them
at marsiellesMarseille we just left
a few weeks ago no american
soldier is allowed on the streets
they have killed some of the boys
in different cityscities.

this camp just where we are
is six miles square and is not
as large as some we have
been in and all you can
see is trucks and salvage.
Well the weather is pretty good
the last few days it is pretty cold
here at nights. I just received
a letter that was dated OctOctober 22
from Molly Feasel and one from
her DecDecember 4. I guess I will
have time to write Uncle
Wilbur
now. Well as it is
dinner time will close
wishing all the best of luck.

Harold
P.S. I have a map of France
and some cards will send
in a few days.
