Dear Dr. Jerome,

We are the parents of two B.G.S.U.Bowling Green State University
students - William a Junior & Nancy a
Sophmore, both in Business. We have been
most concerned these past few weeks with
the possible outcome on campus.

This letter is to show you and your
staff the appreciation we have for the
ability of staff and student alike to "keep
cool", discuss, and keep the University open.

Our son is in Air Force ROTCReserve Officer Training Corps and not
because of this but because we believe in
a free society where the individual has a
right to choose his electives, we stongly
feel ROTCReserve Officer Training Corps should remain on Campus, for
those desiring that opportunity.

We were pleased with B.G.S.U.Bowling Green State University and
its facilities on our first visit several
years ago and now definitely feel our
children were wise to choose a University
as great as this one!

Sincerely,

Mr. & Mrs. Ernest P. Cooper

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Cooper:

Thank you for your very thoughtful letter. Your confidence is tremen-
dously encouraging to me and I cannot tell you how refreshing I find the open-
ness and understanding which some of our parents share in common with you.
It is my personal belief that the University has grown in stature these past
few weeks and I can turn over to my successor, Dr. Hollis A. Moore, an in-
stitution of great promise and vitality.

Again, thank you for taking the time to write.

Cordially,

Wm. Travers Jerome III
President
