Introduction	The Ohio Association of Student Financial Administrators Collection (OASFAA) was donated to the Center for Archival Collections on February 9, 1990, with the assistance of Deb Heineman, historian for OASFAA. The collection, dating from 1962 to the present, consists of minutes, reports, correspondence, region and committee files, conference files, publications and visual materials. Files from outgoing officers are sent periodically to the CAC for addition to the OASFAA Collection. No restrictions exist on the use of this collection and duplication is permitted for research purposes. The collection was processed and finding aid prepared by Wendy Evans, archival assistant, in August 1995. The Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators was established at the Ohio workshop at Hueston Woods on December 5 and 6, 1968. Robert McKay from Bowling Green State University was the first president of this organization. Previously, financial aid professionals met as part of the Student Financial Aids section of the Ohio College Association. According to the November 8, 1963 minutes, the Financial Aid to Students Section of the Ohio College Association held a fall meeting. These meetings continued throughout the sixties. On December 4, 1968, a constitution was proposed to define this section. The new name of the organization was the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. The purpose of this organization is to promote "career and personal development of financial aid professionals, cooperation among higher education and governmental agencies, and outreach (programs) to secondary and other institutions." The main activities of the organization include conferences, workshops, committees, and publications such as OASFAA directory, newsletter, and other guides for financial aid. Membership in this organization includes both active members who work with the administration of financial aid and associate members. OASFAA is affiliated with the Midwest Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (MASFAA) and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA). OASFAA publishes many publications which have won awards from the national organization. OASFAA has won NASFAA state awards for its Legislative Advocacy Handbook in 1988, Early Awareness Program in 1989, and Lender Fact Book in 1990. OASFAA holds conferences in the spring and in the winter. In 1994, the organization celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary at the spring convention. At this time, a twenty-fifth anniversary scholarship fund was established to provide assistance to students.
