Introduction | The records of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 1928 - 2002, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403, in May 2002, with the cooperation of Reverend John R. Laudick of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The collection consists of baptisms*, first communions, confirmations, marriages* and deaths. Due to inconsistencies in pagination and transcription of data, researchers are encouraged to refer to all volumes within each series. (See order of microfilming for a detailed list of these records.) Some text is in Latin. This register and this collection was prepared by Rachel Diegel in May 2002. *There is a seventy (70) year access restriction on baptism and marriage records. No restrictions apply to the remainder of this collection. |
Agency History | The parish of St. Vincent de Paul was canonically erected on March 5, 1928. Reverend Francis A. Slattery was appointed the first pastor of this parish in 1928. By May of 1928, the parish had already completed their first church building. The parish school was completed in the summer of 1928. The church was enlarged in 1956 to accommodate the growing number of individuals that attended mass. In December of 1967, the parish began building a new church. The church was not completed until May of 1969 due to strikes and delays. Mossing, Lawrence A. S.T.D. History of the Diocese of Toledo. Northern Ohio - West Central Section Toledo and Lucas County.
