(See order of microfilming for a detailed list of these records.) This register and this collection was prepared by Jennifer Golis in October 2001. *There is a seventy (70) year access restriction on baptism and marriage records. Agency History | St. John the Baptist Catholic Church began as a Station of Delphos in 1865. The parish built its first church building in 1867 and the status of the church changed from a Station to a Mission. In the Fall of 1867, the parish received their first resident pastor, Father Elias Maesfrancx. Between the years 1871 and 1877, St. John the Baptist church served the Mission of St. Patrick, Spencerville. During this time, Landeck also served the Missions of Van Wert and Convoy. In 1904, the parish built a larger church to accommodate the growing congregation. This church was destroyed by a tornado on March 19, 1948, killing two young boys. The church was rebuilt in 1949. In 1970, Landeck became the sister parish of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Spencerville. Mossing, Lawrence A. S.T.D. History of the Diocese of Toledo.
