A reader of romance fiction since high school, James became interested in writing romance herself in 2015 after reading the Hot Under the Collar series by Amber Belldene, an Episcopal priest. James was herself studying to become an Episcopal clergywoman at the time, and was ordained in 2018.
James has self-published three contemporary romances since 2017. The books- Starting Over: Rick, Going Home: Roger, and The Wedding Bet: Lauren comprise the Sweet & Sensuous Series.
