Biographical Sketch | Joseph Barr lives in Eastpointe Michigan and is an avid modeler of Great Lakes vessels. Barr is a regular contributor to the quarterly journals of the Ship-in-Bottle Association of America and the European Ship-in-Bottle Association, as well as the boat modelers’ section of the Detroit Marine Historical Society’s website. |
Scope and Content | This .6 cubic foot collection is composed of approximately 369 color photos of Great Lakes vessels and Great Lakes brochures. Photos in this collection date from the 1990s to the 2000s. Photos were taken at various Great Lakes locations by Joseph Barr. Item-level inventory is available in PDF form at the bottom of this finding aid. Great Lakes brochures document various cruises, ferries, and museums in the Great Lakes region. |
Series Description | Series 1: Vessel Photos, .2 cubic feet 1990s-2000s Box 1 Series contains approximately 369 black and white negatives of Great Lakes vessels. Negatives in this series date from the 1930s to the 1960s. Although most of the photos were taken by Herbert H. Harwood, photos taken by R.P. Wallis, Joseph Brauner, and Elmer Treloar are also present. Series 2: Various Great Lakes Brochures, 1990s-2000s Box 2 Great Lakes brochures document various cruises, ferries, and museums in the Great Lakes region. |
