Introduction | The Chris Woodyard Invisible Ink Collection consists of approximately 1.5 linear feet of manuscript materials. The collection was donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library by Chris Woodyard beginning in 1995. This collection is unprocessed, but may be accessed by contacting the BPCL Reference email. The collection has no restrictions placed on its use for scholarly purposes. Researchers are responsible for securing copyright permission when using all unpublished manuscripts and published works found in this collection. |
Biographical Sketch | Chris Woodyard (1953- ) is an American author and researcher of books about ghost stories and hauntings. She has written more than 10 books in the Haunted Ohio and Ghosts of the Past series. Nearly all of her books focus on Ohio, but several include nationally-known ghost stories. Woodyard was born in Columbus, Ohio and attended Bowling Green State University for two year before obtaining a degree in Medieval and Renaissance Studies from Ohio State University. She currently resides in Dayton, Ohio. |
Scope and Content | The collection includes manuscript materials related to Chris Woodyard's Haunted Ohio and Ghosts of the Past series. Several of the manuscript fragments are untitled, but there is a copyedited proof of Haunted Ohio IV. There are also press clippings related to Woodyard's writing and the Invisible Ink Catalog that Woodyard operated for many years. |

Transfers | In 1996, Chris Woodyard donated more than 700 books to the Browne Popular Culture Library to form the Invisible Ink Collection. Woodyard has continued to add to that collection, which can be located in the library's catalog. |
