Introduction | The Dave Duffey Collection consists of approximately 1.6 linear feet of manuscript materials. The collection was donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library by Dave Duffey in 1976. This collection is unprocessed, but may be accessed by contacting the BPCL reference email. The collection has no restrictions placed on its use for scholarly purposes. Researchers are responsible for securing copyright permission when using all unpublished manuscripts and published works found in this collection. |
Biographical Sketch | Dave Duffey (1927-2014) was an American author and expert on the training of hunting dogs. He wrote nine books on the subject and served as the Dog Editor for Outdoor Life Magazine for 23 years. He was a judge at many field trial events and a founding member of the National Bird Dog Museum. Duffey was also a professional dog trainer and hunting club manager. |
Scope and Content | The collection includes manuscripts and galley proofs for several books on dogs. These include Hunting Dog Know-How, Bird Hunting Know-How, Hunting Hounds, and Dave Duffey Trains Gun Dogs. |
