Introduction | The James E. Martin Collection consists of approximately 4 linear feet of manuscript materials. The collection was donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library by James E. Martin in 1989 and 1990. This collection is unprocessed, but may be accessed by contacting the BPCL Reference email. The collection has no restrictions placed on its use for scholarly purposes. Biographical Sketch | James E. Martin began writing detectvie mystery fiction while on the police force in Norwalk, Ohio. His first published novel was The 95 File (1973). Martin wrote five more novels while working as a police officer, before becoming a full-time writer in 1986. He has since written several more books, including Mercy Trap and And Then You Die. |
Scope and Content | The collection includes manuscripts for published and unpublished works written by James E. Martin between 1964 and 1990. In several cases, multiple versions of one manuscript are included. |
