Introduction | The Arnold Marquis Collection consists of approximately 4.4 linear feet of manuscript materials. The collection was donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library by Arnold Marquis in 1975. This collection is unprocessed, but may be accessed by contacting the BPCL Reference email. The collection has no restrictions placed on its use for scholarly purposes. Researchers are responsible for securing copyright permission when using all unpublished manuscripts and published works found in this collection. |
Biographical Sketch | Arthus Marquis (died 1988) was a prolific author as well as a director and producer of radio dramas and documentaries such as The Fifth Horseman, The Pacific Story, Unlimited Horizons, Enterprising West, and America's Indians. Marquis began his career as a journalist, which heavily influenced his approach to researching his documentary subjects. He also wrote the book A Guide to America's Indians (1974). |
