Introduction	The Jane Caputi Collection consists of approximately 0.25 linear feet of manuscript materials. The collection was donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library by Jane Caputi in 1986. This collection is unprocessed, but may be accessed bycontacting the BPCL reference email. The collection has no restrictions placed on its use for scholarly purposes. Researchers are responsible for securing copyright permission when using all unpublished manuscripts and published works found in this collection.
Biographical Sketch	Jane Caputi, Ph.D. is a 1982 graduate of Bowling Green State University, obtaining her Ph.D. in American Culture Studies. She is the author of three books, The Age of Sex Crime (1988); Gossips, Gorgons and Crones: The Fates of the Earth (1993); and Goddesses and Monsters: Women, Myth, Power and Popular Culture (2004). Since 1997, she has been Professor of Women’s Studies and Communication & Multimedia at Florida Atlantic University.
Scope and Content	The collection contains the manuscript materials for Caputi's book The Age of Sex Crime, published in 1988 by the Popular Press.
