Introduction	The Leonard R.N. Ashley Collection consists of approximately 1 linear foot of manuscript materials. The collection was donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library by Leonard R.N. Ashley between 1986 and 1990. This collection is unprocessed, but may be accessed by contacting the BPCL reference email. The collection has no restrictions placed on its use for scholarly purposes. Researchers are responsible for securing copyright permission when using all unpublished manuscripts and published works found in this collection.
Biographical Sketch	Leonard R.N. Ashley is an American linguist and folklorist who is best known for his writings about the occult. He is also an avid collector of so-called "dime novels", many of which he has donated to the Browne Popular Culture Library over the years. He is a former professor of English at Brooklyn College.
Scope and Content	The collection includes manuscript materials for papers, articles and books written by Ashley.
