IntroductionThe Sandra Springer Collection consists of 0.8 linear feet of manuscript materials. The materials largely relate to fanzines and fandom surrounding Star Trek and The Professionals. The materials were donated by Sandra Springer's family in 1998. There are no restrictions placed on the collection for scholarly use, however all copyright and related interests remain with the authors of the indcluded works. The collection was processed and the finding aid completed by Steve Ammidown, Manuscripts & Outreach Archivist, in August 2016.
Biographical SketchSandra Springer was the creator of Sandy's Zine List, a database containing a list of all known fanzines, their topics, and the stories contained therein. Springer was active within the fandoms for Star Trek and The Professionals, which is reflected in the contents of this collection. Sandra Springer passed away in 1997.
Scope and ContentThe collection includes evidence of Sandra Springer's activities within fandom, including paper copies of several versions of her database, correspondence with other fans, conference materials, and a collection of items relating to a trip she took with several friends to see William Shatner ride horses in a horse show in Kentucky.

The materials in this collection will be of interest to those studying the fan cultures of the 1980s and 1990s, the influence of technology, and fanzines in general.
