PCL MS 197 Pamela Daoust Collection

The Pamela Daoust Collection contains approximately 4 linear feet of literary manuscripts and correspondence relating to more than 15 works by the author, writing as Katharine Kincaid.  The materials date approximately from 1985-1999. The materials were donated by Pamela Daoust in 2000. There are no restrictions placed on the collection for scholarly use, however all copyright and related interests remain with the author or her assigns. The collection was processed and the finding aid completed by Steve Ammidown, Manuscripts & Outreach Archivist, in August 2016.

Pamela Daoust, writing as Katharine Kincaid, is the author of more than 20 novels and novellas in the historical and contemporary romance genres. Her first novel, Crimson Desire, was published in 1983. Daoust called Northwest Ohio home for most of her career, but now lives in Hawaii.

The collection consists primarily of manuscript page proofs and correspondence with fans. There are several pieces of business-related correspondence, as well as magazines featuring Katharine Kincaid and promotional materials for several of her novels. At the request of Ms. Daoust, the names and addresses of her correspondents have been redacted.

The correspondence files are a particular strength of this collection, as they include fan suggestions, heartfelt appreciation, and stories from the fans' own lives.
