Introduction | The records of the Ada First United Methodist Church were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green Ohio with the cooperation of Beth Gray. The Center for Archival Collections is the publisher of this microfilm edition. The camera negative is the property of the Center for Archival Collections. For restrictions on the duplication of this collection please see the Note to Researchers included on the microfilm. The first Ada Methodist "class" met in a school house at the corner of Main and Montford Streets in 1852. In 1866 a church was built at the corner of Gilbert Street and Highland Avenue. The present church was built and dedicated in 1899. This collection consists of nine record books dating from 1859 - 2005. The record books contain historical records, membership records, pastoral records, baptisms, marriages, and deaths. This introduction was prepared by Kathy Gardner in January 2006. |
