Short [137], 9 February 1875 [Box 2, Folder 13]Deshler, O., Aug 9th 1875 Dear Sir, Please find enclosed cash $86.66 and Morgages & 2 notes which were not needed as this is full pay for Lots No. 21 & 22 for a church less 8.33 to my ser and comes of 5.00. I would like a duplicate of your Lands here for sale as it verry inconvenient to always go to Mr. Hamler to get prices & subscriptions & c. as he seems inclined to keep every thing in his own hands. Mr. Beckett said I could sell Lands as well as lots. Respectfully L.S. Holmes to Frederick H. Short [144], 25 February 1875 [Box 2, Folder 20]Deshler, Henry Co., O. Dear Sir, I write you in regard to out Lot No. 17 which you will see by the Plat corners on inlots No. 21 & 22 sold to Rev. Henry D. Best for a Catholic Church. The same Rev. Mr. Best now wishes to Purchase out lot No. 17 and offers 600 Dollars one third in hand and ballance in 2 payments one & two years with six per cent Int. I had understood Mr. Beckett that those out lots were with drawn from market but told Rev. Mr. Best I would write you & make his offer. He has sold his place wishes to build on it for a Parsonage. Now if you conclude to accept of his offer Please please forward to me the necessary Papers. Please reply soon and oblige. L.S. Holmes The Purchaser is Rev. Henry D. Best |
