Introduction | Jerrold Mundis was a writer, speaker, and counselor. He has written 17 novels, 13 non-fiction books, and around 100 short stories, essays, and articles. He wrote under various pseudonyms, including Robert Calder, Eric Corder, and Julia Withers. Two of his well known novels are Gerhardt's Children and The Dogs. His works appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Harper's Weekly, and were selected for The Book-of-the-Month Club. The Mundis Collection of 0.19 cubic feet consists of the manuscript Echo in a Dark Wind and a set of edits for the manuscript. This manuscript was donated to Bowling Green State University in May 1969. The collection has no restrictions placed upon its use for scholarly purposes. Researchers are responsible for securing copyright permission when using all unpublished manuscripts and published works. This finding aid was prepared by Patty Falk in September 2011. Biographical Sketch | Jerrold J. Mundis was born March 3, 1941, in Chicago, IL. He attended Beloit College, 1959-61 and received a B.A. in 1963 from New York University. He ws an experienced teacher of professional and avocational writing and has been an editor at The New York Times. He is a member of the Authors Guild, PEN American Center, and Poets & Writers. He was also a counselor in assisting people in getting out of debt and increasing their income. | |||||||||||
Scope and Content | The Jerrold Mundis Collection consists of the manuscript Echo in a Dark Wind, a neo-gothic novel that was published under his pseudonym Julia Withers in 1966. It also includes editorial notes and chapter outlines. | |||||||||||
