|Introduction||This collection documents the history of Greek life on the BGSU campus with both organizational files and subject files. Duplication of materials in this collection is permitted for the purposes of preservation and research. No restrictions exist on the use of this collection. As described in the Visiting Researcher Application Form, researchers using this collection assume full responsibility for conforming to the laws of libel, privacy, and copyright.|
|Agency History||Greek fraternities and sororities have been present at BGSU since the early 1940s. They aim "to develop responsible citizens who are dedicated to lifelong membership and community involvement through [their] commitment to academic excellence, positive relationships, civic engagement, and leadership" [source for quote: http://www.bgsu.edu/campus-activities/fraternity-and-sorority-life/our-community.html accessed June 2017]|

|Scope and Content||This collection consists of 127 letter sized manuscript boxes and 1 oversized box [box 103] (approximately 42 cubic feet). There is no box 91 in the collection. Boxes 104-129 were part of an accretion to this collection received in 2006.|
|Series Description||Series 1 - Organizations: The materials available for each Greek organization vary, but may include rosters of membership, officers, and advisors; correspondence; constitutions and bylaws; housing reports; posters; photographs; and pamphlets. Also included with the Organizations records are two folders about the French House.|
Series 2 - Slides - One box consists of 35 mm slides in protective sleeves, which for the most part are unidentified. Composite photographs of some fraternities and sororities are listed under the respective organizations' names.
Series 3 - Subject Files - The subject files make up the bulk of the Greek Affairs collection. They cover a wide range of topics documenting Greek life on campus, including: alcohol awareness materials; information on Black Greeks; Greek life programming; newspaper clipping files; house parent manuals; meeting minutes, correspondence and other materials relating to the Inter-Fraternity Council; leadership conference files; Miss BGSU; conference reports on the National Panhellenic Council; budgets, annual reports, correspondence, meeting minutes and other related materials for the Panhellenic Council; folders about rush activities; and staff manuals and training guidelines.
