Agency History | The Browne Popular Culture Library (BPCL) was founded in 1969 and has become the most comprehensive archive of its kind in the United States. Its focus and mission is to acquire and preserve research materials on American Popular Culture (post 1876) for curricular and research use. Collection strengths include: research materials on popular fiction, popular entertainment, and the graphic arts. |
Scope and Content | Although containing some materials relating to the founding of the BPCL, the bulk of the collection documents the operations of the library during the 1980s and 1990s, including monthly and annual reports and accession information. Collection size: 20 full letter sized manuscript boxes and 3 half-sized letter manuscript boxes (approximately 7.1 cubic feet) |
