Introduction | Marjorie Louise Hartman graduated from Bowling Green State College (currently Bowling Green State University - BGSU) on July 27, 1933 with a two-year diploma in elementary education. She compiled a scrapbook of clippings, programs for college sporting events, concerts, plays and other social events. She included brochures and booklets about the college and the city of Bowling Green as well. The scrapbook's enclosures date from approximately 1928 until 1938. Of special interest to researchers would be clippings and various documents from 1933 relevant to both the proposed conversion of the college to a welfare institution during the Depression and the City of Bowling Green Centennial festivities held the same year. Much of the scrapbook's contents include Crawford County School (Jefferson Rural and Tiro schools in particular) programs, teacher association documents and clippings. The scrapbook was donated to the Center for Archival Collections by Kay Hallett on September 9, 2005. The introduction and box-folder inventory was prepared by Eric Honneffer on May 24, 2006. |
