Scope and Contents

Collection contains promotional and marketing files, mostly for popular and rock music artists and bands, including promotional materials from record labels, some clippings from newspapers and magazines, promotional photographs, some press releases, and other ephemeral marketing materials. Fewer folders relate to music venues, movie and television soundtracks, and musical genres.

Some of the sound archives' promotional materials from record companies or distributors have been transferred to other MLBSSA collections, most often: Music Posters Collection (MUSIC 004), Music Promotional and Marketing Objects Collection (MUSIC 023), Music Calendar Collection (MUSIC 025), and Record Flat Collection (MUSIC 047).

Biographies of individual artists are cataloged individually and can be found using the BGSU library catalog.
