Title | Why must I suffer the maskless? |
---|---|
Description | Why must I suffer the maskless? I now live in pain and squalor because of their hubris. They are ignorant to the downtrodden around them. They do not see the homeless, and wonder if they will soon live among them. They are not acquainted with hunger, who now visits me frequently. I see their smile which should remain unseen, and they understand my disdain through my eyes, though they cannot see the scowl of my lips in turn. I can tell they have lost nobody. They have not had to pick up the burdens of a comrade who kept writing to his last breath. The cold creeps in, and they huddle for warmth, to my chagrin. They can't suffer the cold for an hour what I sleep in during the night. They can't suffer a mask in public which I have suffered for hours a day for over a year. They are weak, feeble, creatures. |
