Letter written while serving in the Army during World War I; Snyder was in the 8th Provisional Squadron, Aviation Section, Signal Corps during this period; later he was assigned to the Spruce Production Division, Vancouver Barracks, Washington, which was crucial in the supply of high quality spruce wood for production of Allied airplanes.
