Collection Overview
Abstract
The collection consists of three volumes of Record Books which include family registers, as well as lists of baptisms, marriages, confirmations and burials, dating from 1845-1956, although some of the family registers date as early as 1786. Also included are two volumes of Minute Books, dating from 1854-1906. The first volume of minutes provides details on the planning and completion of the Church building on Huron Street. Completing the collection are two volumes of constitutions and membership lists, dating from 1854-1914.
These volumes are written in German until about 1919.

The records of the Salem Lutheran Church, Toledo, Ohio, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, on September 24, 1987, with the cooperation of Lawrence Metzger.
