Biographical / Historical
Leo S. Rosencrans (1896-1989) was a native of Findlay, Ohio. After receiving his degree from Findlay College in 1916, he spent several years as a Redpath Chautauqua performer and radio writer before turning to screenplays. Mr. Rosencrans primarily wrote industrial and trade films, winning five Oscars in the 16mm field for his work. One of his films, Unfinished Rainbows, featured a young Alan Ladd and dramatized the story of the history of aluminum.

The materials in this collection were transferred to the Browne Popular Culture Library by Leo S. Rosencrans in 1976.

A preliminary inventory of this collection was created in 1998. However, due to issues with obsolete software, it was rendered improperly when converted and may contain inconsistencies and inaccuracies. This finding aid reflects the reconstructed version of the inventory, which was revised and input into ArchivesSpace by Tyne Lowe, Manuscripts Archivist, in January 2025.
