Originals, transcripts, and photocopies of two letters (May 4 and July 14, 1863) written by Perry who was serving with the 10th Ohio Volunteer Cavalry, Co.B during the Civil War; he also served with the 17th O.V.I. during the initial 3 month service in 1861, and the 85th O.V.I. (3 months) in 1862.
