Wood County Historical Society

Papers of the Bruce Pratt Family and their ancestors, including correspondence, legal papers, clippings, printed material, and photographs. Families include Brown, Patterson, and Pratt, of Ontario, NY, and Henry and Wood Counties, Ohio; some Civil War correspondence of John Carter, Co. B, 38th OVI, who died in 1862.

The collection consists of minute books, correspondence, financial ledger, and published materials documenting the activities of the Jolly Ridgers Farm Bureau Advisory Council.

The Lyle R. Fletcher collection documents the former Bowling Green State University geography professor’s research of Wood County history, geography, and weather. The collections consists of minutes, from local organizations with which Dr. Fletcher was affiliated, correspondence, research files, literary productions, and printed materials.

The Van Tassel Family Papers document the history of this pioneer Wood County family during the 19th century. Correspondence, a journal, articles and books comprise the bulk of this collection.
