Methodist Church in Fremont, Ohio, formed out of four congregations of the Green Creek Circuit of the Sanducky County Methodist Conference, including Eden United Methodist Church, Bettsville, the Mount Calvary United Brethren Church, Washington Township, the Mount Lebanon United Brethren Church, Fremont, and the Methodist Protestant Church, Fremont.

Scope and Contents The Robert H. Caldwell Papers consist of correspondence between the members of the Caldwell family during the Civil War.Robert Caldwell served with the 21st Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, Company I, from September 1861 till February 1863. Abstract The collection is comprised of birth, baptismal, confirmation, communion, marriage, and death records, some of which are written in German, and contained in nineteen record books kept by Reverend Henry Lang (1852-1890). The earliest information can be found in the church record books which date from 1843-1941. Abstract

The collection is comprised of three parish record books which date from 1842-1876. The first volume contains the parish vestry records and treasurer's reports. The second two volumes include information on membership, specifically baptisms, confirmations, communicants, marriages, and burials. Also included in this collection are two volumes of proceedings of the Women's Auxiliary and annual meeting programs, dating from 1912 to 1941.
